Pray Without Ceasing

Like you, I have been carrying a heavy heart. The suffering of the Ukrainians, Russians, and others impacted by the attacks is devastating. We have watched short video clips of fathers leaving their young children to defend their country, young men embracing their girlfriends/wives, who they may not see again. There's a clip of infant babies who should be resting in maternity wards situated in rows on a bench in a shelter. How about the hundreds of people with just the clothes on their backs trying to escape into nearby countries like Poland? It is heartbreaking and gut-wrenching.

The more I read and the more media releases I watched, the more powerless I was starting to feel. I had to stop the discouragement and doubt and lean on my superpower, prayer. We cannot give up, and we have to pray without ceasing (1 Thessalonians 5:17). We don't war against flesh and blood, but our battle is against the evil powers and principalities of this dark age. Remember, we are already victorious because God has overcome it all. Raise your voices, and declare His perfect peace to the nations.

I appreciated John Bevere's (Messenger International) Instagram post from February 25th.

"We must stand united. Now, more than ever, the people of God need to PRAY-and to pray fervently. The media is predicting the biggest war in Europe since 1945. We must stand on our promise that "the fervent prayer of a righteous [person] avails much." (James 5:16) EVERY believer must cry out to God that:

1. He would write another story in our lifetime;

2. He would fill our Ukrainian and Russian brothers and sisters with faith, courage, and strength;

3. He would thwart every evil scheme and the power of darkness;

4. He would give supernatural wisdom to our politicians, diplomats, and peacemakers; and

5. His purposes would unfold, and there would be an outpouring of His Spirit.

Don't believe Satan's lie that your prayers are powerless. Be bold. Be strong. Be persistent. Pray the Word of God. Speak to the nations, in the name of Jesus, and say: "Be still and Know God! He is exalting among the nations; He shall be exalted in the earth." (Psalm 46:10)

Let us cry out together and PRAY! Pray morning, noon, and at night. Pray with your families, friends, coworkers, and even with strangers. Pray from peace and release peace. Let us not give up until our prayers are answered!
